NASA rover takes a closer look at organic carbon on Mars

NASA's Perseverance rover has analyzed organic carbon samples found in mudstone within Mars' Jezero Crater. While these molecules are building blocks for life, scientists caution that they can also be created through non-biological chemical processes.
