NIT-C tops National Green University Ranking

The National Institute of Technology-Calicut has been ranked first in the National Green University Ranking 2026. The institution achieved a platinum rating for its commitment to sustainability and alignment with global environmental goals.
The National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) has secured the first rank in the National Green University Ranking (NGUR) 2026, earning a platinum rating with a score of 96.5/100. A release said on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) that the award would be presented during the 10th NYC Green School Conference 2026 to be held in New York, held in partnership with Climate Week NYC and aligned with the 81st United Nations General Assembly. NGUR is a flagship initiative of Green Mentors, aligned with the NEP 2020, UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the UNESCO Greening Higher Education Framework, the release added.
