Ongole processes 1.76 lakh tonnes of legacy waste
Ongole Municipal Corporation officials have processed 1.76 lakh tonnes of legacy waste out of a total 2.56 lakh tonnes at the Guthikondavaripalem dumping yard. The District Collector has directed staff to accelerate recycling efforts and promote public awareness regarding waste segregation.
Out of the 2.56 lakh tonnes of legacy waste accumulated at the Guthikondavaripalem dumping yard, nearly 1.76 lakh tonnes have been processed so far, Ongole Municipal Corporation (OMC) officials informed Prakasam District Collector P. Raja Babu during an inspection at the site on the outskirts of Ongole city on Friday (July 31, 2026).
