Over 77,500 sedative tablets, 170 cough syrup bottles seized in Hyderabad, two arrested

Hyderabad police arrested two individuals for the illegal possession and sale of over 77,000 sedative tablets and cough syrup bottles. The investigation revealed that these prescription drugs were being sold to youngsters for intoxicating purposes rather than medical use.
Two persons were arrested by the Hyderabad Police’s CCS Special Crime team in coordination with the Habib Nagar police for allegedly possessing and selling large quantities of prescription sedative tablets and cough syrup without authorisation. The operation resulted in the seizure of 77,700 tablets and 170 bottles of cough syrup, collectively valued at around ₹10 lakh.
