Pakistan make history with two gold, one bronze at World Ju-Jitsu C’ship

LAHORE - Pakistan created history at the 2026 World Ju-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi as national athletes secured two gold and one bronze medal. Former Asian champions Abu Huraira and Muhammad Ammar achieved a historic milestone by winning gold medals in the masters duo and duo show categories. It marked Pakistan's first-ever appearance in the masters category at the World Championship, making the achievement even more significant. Adding another medal to Pakistan's tally, young duo Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Umar clinched bronze in the U-21 duo category after an impressive display of technique, coordination and determination. The duo will con-tinue their campaign in the duo show category, aiming to add another medal to Pakistan's growing success at the championship. The event is being held at Mubadala Arena, Abu Dhabi, from August 1 to 9, featuring more than 1,500 athletes from across the world. Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation Chairman Khalil Ahmed Khan congratulated the medal winners, describing their success as a proud moment for the country and an inspiration for young athletes. Federation Secretary Tariq Ali said the historic re-sults reflected the dedication, hard work and rising potential of Pakistan's Ju-Jitsu athletes on the in-ternational stage.
