Patna erupts after fatal bus accident; mob torches vehicles, storms police post

PATNA: A pedestrian was killed after being allegedly hit by a bus in Bihar's capital Patna on Friday, triggering protests during which an angry mob set vehicles on fire and vandalised a police post, officials said.The incident occurred on NH-30 in the Chhoti Pahadi area on Friday morning, according to news agency PTI.Patna SDPO-1 Raj Kishore Singh stated, "A man crossing the road in Chhoti Pahadi area was hit by a bus, leading to his death. Angered by the incident, people torched the bus."He said the situation was brought under control following police intervention.
