Pregnant teen, 17, 'excited' for baby girl tragically dies day after gender reveal party

The family of a 17-year-old girl is enduring unimaginable heartbreak after the pregnant teenager passed away suddenly. Summer Rose Miles had been excitedly preparing for a gender reveal party for her unborn child when she unexpectedly collapsed at her home in Nottingham, England. Despite a swift response from emergency services, it was later confirmed that the brave, fearless and bold youngster had suffered an irreversible brain stem haemorrhage. While in hospital , Summer, who was 17 weeks pregnant, gave birth to her unborn child, who tragically did not survive. Summer remained on life support throughout, and despite undergoing emergency surgery, her injuries ultimately proved too severe. Her devastated loved ones were then delivered the gut-wrenching news that she would not pull through. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the community has rallied together to support her parents, Mandy and Scott Milles. Her elder sister, Chloe Jade, launched a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral costs, which has already been met with an overwhelming wave of love and financial contributions. Chloe, 27, has since spoken to The Mirror , saying: "She couldn't wait to be a mum. She has said this since I remember her playing with dollies. "She loves children so much, and although young, and it was a shock for everyone, we know she'd have been the best mummy ever, and everyone was looking forward to the next chapter." Summer made her family immensely proud with her achievements at college, where she also met her best friend and boyfriend, Carson. Her sister noted that Summer had visibly matured following her pregnancy, adding: "She had a different light about her - it was beautiful." Heartbreakingly, Summer never got the chance to become a mother, passing away on July 12. The cause of death was a brain haemorrhage, and Chloe said: "The doctors said it was spontaneous, tragic and rare, especially in her age and pregnancy. Summer was otherwise fit and healthy." Summer and her partner had been due to hold a gender reveal celebration on July 11, just 48 hours before she collapsed at home. The teenager was convinced she was expecting a girl, and Chloe told this reporter: "The gender reveal decorations and plans were all prepped by my mum, following a private scan gifted to her from her boyfriend's family who would have also attended. "Unfortunately the scan never had a chance to happen. One of the last things Summer told my mum was that she was thankful for how nice she had made the garden look for her big day outside." Chloe further described her beloved sister as a "whirlwind of chaos and laughter", adding that she shared an incredibly close bond with their mother. Since her passing, an outpouring of tributes from friends has flooded in, a testament to just how deeply loved she was. Chloe and Summer shared a passion for horses, and the younger sibling was gifted a pony named Princess for her seventh birthday. As a child, she also looked up to her older brother, Jordan, and was known as something of a tomboy. However, Chloe noticed things began to shift when her high heels suddenly started appearing on her sister's feet around the house. Summer also used to cheer her father on whenever he played football, and one of her most treasured pastimes growing up was swimming with him. As she got older, she became an aunty to her niece, Ava, and the two shared a truly wonderful bond, something Chloe said she would always cherish. During family car journeys, Summer insisted on blasting drum and bass, despite everyone else dismissing it as "rubbish music". Recalling a more recent fond memory, Chloe said: "We went to a Coldplay and Oasis tribute a few weeks back and she sang her heart out to Coldplay with us and it was so special. "When she first told me her new favourite song was Yellow, we sent a video singing it together to her dad to show how far she'd come with her music taste." Despite looking back on happier times, the heartbreaking reality is that Summer's loved ones are now mourning the loss of a vibrant, warm and bright young woman who meant everything to them. During this unimaginably difficult period, they must also face the burden of funeral costs, with Chloe writing on the GoFundMe: "My world has fallen apart, and my heart is broken beyond words. I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of my family to offer whatever help and support I can during the most devastating time of our lives. "No parent should ever have to bury their child, especially a 17-year-old daughter and her baby. We are not asking for anything more than a little help towards easing the financial burden that comes with arranging the beautiful farewell that Summer and her baby deserve. "We will give them the best send-off we possibly can, no matter what and no matter the cost, but if I can take even a small amount of pressure away from Mum and Dad, it would mean everything and more."
