President Rinkēvičs heads to Lithuania

On Wednesday, the President will meet with his Lithuanian counterpart, President Gitanas Nausėda, plus Juozas Olekas, Speaker of the Seimas [parliament], and Mindaugas Sinkevičius, the recently-installed Prime Minister of Lithuania, in Vilnius. "During the visit, the Presidents of Lithuania and Latvia will discuss bilateral relations, regional security and defense, as well as support for Ukraine," according to a release from the Lithuanian President's office. The two Presidents last bumped into each other just a few days ago at the NATO summit in Ankara. Rinkēvičš will also visit Vilnius University, as well as participate in a Latvian-Lithuanian Business Forum and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial for the Fallen in Lithuania's Independence at the Antakalni Cemetery. Naturally, the evening will feature a state dinner. Then on July 16th, in Klaipėda, it is planned that he will visit the Klaipėda LNG terminal and a Lithuanian Navy tactical operation demonstration before delivering a lecture at Klaipėda University and being handed an Honorary Doctorate. Before returning to Latvia, Rinkēvičs will also visit the Būtiņģe Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he will meet with representatives of the local congregation and the Latvian community.
