Prince William and Kate Middleton make rare family appearance at Commonwealth Games

Prince William and Kate Middleton briefly paused their summer break to attend the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday, August 1, making it a rare family outing with their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 44, were joined by Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, for the sporting event. They are also expected to spend part of the season at Balmoral Castle, where the British royal family traditionally gathers in late summer.Although Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are largely kept out of the public eye, they occasionally accompany their parents to major public events.Earlier this summer, George and Charlotte joined William and Kate at the Wimbledon men's singles final, where they watched Italy's Jannik Sinner successfully defend his title against Germany's Alexander Zverev.
