Prognostic significance of the hemoglobin glycation index in critically ill patients with and without diabetes: analysis of the MIMIC-IV database

A study using the MIMIC-IV database found that the hemoglobin glycation index (HGI) is an independent predictor of mortality in critically ill patients. Higher HGI levels were associated with lower mortality risks in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients within the intensive care setting.
