Provident Fund interest credited to all 34 crore accounts on July 15

For the first time, interest for the financial year 2025-26 was credited to all 34 crore Provident Fund accounts on July 15, facilitated by the new Centralised IT Enabled Services (CITES) project. The Union Finance Ministry had approved an 8.25% interest rate, making the credit visible to members much faster than in previous years.
For the first time, interest for the financial year 2025-26 for the deposits in Provident Fund accounts was credited to all 34 crore accounts in one go on July 15. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had earlier said that after implementing the Centralised IT Enabled Services (CITES) project for updating the database of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the interest amounting to over ₹1.44 lakh crore would be credited to accounts of 34 crore members on July 15.
