AI Summary

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, announced a temporary absence from the Jantar Mantar protest site due to illness. He remains a central figure in the ongoing agitation against the Union education minister regarding the NEET paper leak.

NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday said he would be absent from the protest site at Jantar Mantar for a few hours after falling ill.In a post on X, Dipke said he had been suffering from fever and severe body pain for the past few days but had continued participating in the protests by relying on painkillers.“I’ve been down with a fever and severe body pain for the last few days, but I’ve been pushing through with painkillers,” he wrote.Apologising to supporters, Dipke said he would not be present at Jantar Mantar during the day as he needed a few hours of rest to recover.“My apologies if you don’t see me at Jantar Mantar today. I need to get a few hours of rest and recover,” the post read. However, the CJP founder said he would return to the protest site later in the day.“Will be back at the protest site by evening,” he added.Dipke has been one of the key faces of the ongoing agitation, which has intensified following the July 20 ‘Sansad Chalo’ march that witnessed clashes between protesters and Delhi Police. The protests, led by activist Sonam Wangchuk and the CJP, are demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy. The movement has continued at Jantar Mantar despite heightened security, police action against protesters and repeated disruptions during Parliament’s Monsoon Session, with Opposition parties backing the demand for a discussion on the issue.Get the latest City News and Live updates.
