Rooftop solar panel tariffs to fall sharply in 2027
The Israeli Ministry of Energy is proposing a significant reduction in solar panel feed-in tariffs for 2027, potentially dropping rates from current levels to NIS 0.35 per kWh. The new model aims to modernize the electricity market by differentiating between residential and large-scale commercial solar installations.
The existing tariff paid to owners of solar roofs - NIS 0.48 to NIS 0.54 per kilowatt-hour - is set to expire at the end of 2026. In preparation for the decision on a new remunerative model, "Globes" has learned that the proposal being considered would change the electricity market and curb future price increases for all consumers.
