Sai Krishna case: Court summons Tirupati MP to record statement

In a major twist in Gade Sai Krishna’s alleged custodial death case, a court in Vijayawada summoned Tirupati MP M. Gurumoorthy to record his statement. The MP filed a petition in the court seeking the inclusion of the names of Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta, NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu, and South Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police M. Manasa in the alleged custodial torture, death, and destruction of evidence in Sai Krishna’s case. The court, which heard the MP’s petition on Monday (August 10, 2026), directed him to submit his statement on August 17.
