SC upholds Lalu's bail in fodder scam, directs HC to expedite hearing of pending appeals
The Supreme Court of India has upheld the bail granted to former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav in the fodder scam case. The court also directed the High Court to expedite the hearing of pending appeals within six months.
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to interfere with the Jharkhand high court's order granting bail to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Yadav and other convicts in the fodder scam case.The top court also asked the high court to expedite the hearing of the pending appeals, preferably within six months.A bench pf Justices MM Sundresh and Justice PB Varale observed that seven years had passed since the high court granted bail and there was no reason to interfere at this stage.(This is a developing story)Get the latest India news and live updates.
