Search continues for missing diver in Baltic Sea

A multi-national search and rescue operation is underway in the Baltic Sea for a missing diver who disappeared during an excursion to a shipwreck. The effort involves naval vessels, aircraft, and specialized underwater equipment from Latvia and Estonia.
According to the information received, a group of four divers had gone diving near a shipwreck. After diving, three divers successfully surfaced, while one diver has not been found. A search and rescue operation was immediately launched. It involved the Navy patrol vessel P-07, the SAR-2 search and rescue boat, the RK-29 State Border Guard vessel, the National Armed Forces Air Force aircraft, an Estonian search and rescue helicopter, as well as additional Navy and State Border Guard resources. Further search operations are also planned to involve underwater unmanned vehicles to search the shipwreck and the surrounding area, where fishing nets and other underwater obstacles are believed to be located at the dive site. Support in the initial search efforts was also provided by the yacht DALRIADA and several other vessels in the immediate vicinity. The search and rescue operation continues on Monday searching the area where the missing diver is believed to be.
