SECAM: First Preparatory Meeting of Continental Synodal Assembly Towards 2028
The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) held a preparatory meeting in Addis Ababa to discuss the implementation phase of the Catholic Church's Synod on Synodality. Over 60 participants gathered to evaluate the synodal vision and its impact on the Church's mission across the continent.
The first preparatory meeting of the Continental Synodal Assembly of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), held as part of the implementation phase of the Catholic Church’s Synod on Synodality, took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 3 rd to 5th of August. Organized by the SECAM General Secretariat, the gathering brought together more than 60 participants representing the seven out of eight Regional Episcopal Conferences across Africa, including cardinals, bishops, priests, religious men and women, lay faithful, and youth representatives.
