Second body found in search for missing kayakers

Authorities have recovered the bodies of two men who went missing while kayaking near a beach in Gwynedd, Wales. The discovery concludes a week-long search operation involving police and partner agencies.
A second body has been found in a major search for two missing men who had last been seen heading towards a Welsh beach. Connor Parfitt and Simon Wilson vanished over a week ago after being seen heading to a Gwynedd beach, near a Haven holiday park, carrying inflatable kayaks. They were last seen close to the beach near Hafan-y-Mor, Pwllheli, on Tuesday, July 21. On Monday, police confirmed the body of Mr Parfitt had sadly been discovered on a beach in Aberystwyth at around 12.30pm on Sunday, July 26. On Wednesday, North Wales Police confirmed the body of Mr Wilson has now been found. The body has since been identified as Mr Wilson, whose family have been informed. A force spokesperson said: "Officers were called at around 7.20pm yesterday to reports of a body being found in the sea near to Llwyngwril, Gwynedd. "The man has now been identified as Simon Wilson, one of the men who we circulated as missing from Pwllheli last week. "Simon's family and the coroner have been informed." Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson added: "I share my deepest condolences with Simon's family at this incredibly difficult time. "This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for, including the teams involved in the searches. "Thank you to partner agencies, volunteers and members of the public who assisted in our searches.
