AI Summary

Jannik Sinner defeated Novak Djokovic to reach the Wimbledon men's singles final, where he will face Alexander Zverev. Zverev secured his spot in the final after defeating Arthur Fery in straight sets.

Jannik Sinner produced a commanding performance to defeat seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and book his place in the Wimbledon men's singles final. The world No. 1 avenged his Australian Open semifinal loss to Djokovic and showed he has fully recovered from the disappointment of his French Open campaign. Sinner will now defend his Wimbledon title against Alexander Zverev in Sunday's final.Earlier in the day, Alexander Zverev defeated British wildcard Arthur Fery 7-6 (7-0), 6-2, 6-4 to reach his maiden Wimbledon final, just a month after winning his first Grand Slam title at the French Open.“This Grand Slam has always been the one that I struggled with the most and all of a sudden I'm in the final of Wimbledon,” Zverev said. “We got one more match to go on Sunday and that's what the focus is on.”Looking ahead to the title clash, the German remained confident.“It's not going to be easy no matter who it is against,” Zverev said. “But I have to trust myself and I have to believe that I can win and that's what I'm going to do.”Praise for Arthur FeryAlthough Zverev ended Arthur Fery's dream run, he had plenty of praise for the 23-year-old British player, who reached the semifinals as a wildcard.“I think this was just the beginning of his career and I really think that he's going to do amazing things in this sport,” Zverev said.He also applauded the Wimbledon crowd despite almost everyone cheering for the home favourite.“I know that 99.99% of the stadium was wanting Arthur to win. But it was still such an incredible atmosphere. It was such a fair crowd as well,” Zverev said.“A lot of crowds in the world can take an example of this crowd. It's one of the best crowds to play tennis in front of.”The final will see Sinner and Zverev battle for the Wimbledon title in what promises to be a blockbuster showdown.Get the latest Sports News and Live updates.
