SIR: Nearly 57% of 11.4 lakh forms received seek correction of entries in Karnataka
During Karnataka's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, over 11.4 lakh forms have been received, with nearly 57% (7.74 lakh) being Form-8 requests for corrections or changes in voter particulars. Additionally, over 3.32 lakh forms were for new voter inclusions and 30,696 for name deletions, with the process being predominantly online.
From requests for corrections and changes in voter particulars to inclusion of new voters and deletion of names, more than 11.40 lakh forms have been received by the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) between June 16 and July 29 amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
