Police cordoned off two shops on Smithdown Road in Liverpool after a fight broke out, leading to the detention of two men. The incident reportedly began when a man threw a glass at a construction worker, causing glass to smash.
Police closed off two shops on a busy Liverpool street. Pictures seen by the ECHO show several police cars, vans and an ambulance on Smithdown Road on Thursday afternoon, July 30. Police tape was placed around the Liverpool 15 convenience store on the corner of Ferndale Road and Discount Appliances on the corner of Hawarden Avenue. Merseyside Police later said two men had been detained after a fight broke out. A shop worker on Smithdown Road said she heard the "sound of glass smashing" around the time the fight started. She believed the fight, which police confirmed began at around 12.45pm, started when a man threw a glass at a construction worker above the Liverpool 15 convenience store on Smithdown Road.
