State PSCs under scrutiny as exam irregularities, delays erode trust

Nearly, 40 days of protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi — led by the Cockroach Janta Party, All India Students’ Association (AISA), and other student groups over exam paper leaks and irregularities — ended with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation on July 25. Yet, its ripple effect appears to have spilled onto the streets across states. This time, the focus was not on entrance examinations and access to education, but on examinations and employment, which remain major concerns, particularly as the unemployment rate among people aged 15 and above stood at 5.4% as of June 2026.
