Sub-Inspector of Police, Village Assistant held on bribery charge in Tiruppuvanam

A police sub-inspector and a village assistant in Tiruppuvanam were arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in separate bribery cases. The officials were caught after demanding illegal payments for handling a police complaint and a land record petition, respectively.
A Sub-Inspector of Police, Sathyamoorthi of Tirupuvanam police station, and Village Assistant of Mela Rangiyam, R. Ganesan, were reportedly trapped by DVAC sleuths when they demanded and accepted bribe money in two different incidents on Thursday.
