Supreme Court only hope for Tamil Nadu to resolve Cauvery water dispute, says Nirmalkumar
Tamil Nadu Minister R. Nirmalkumar has stated that the Supreme Court is the only remaining hope for resolving the long-standing Cauvery water dispute with Karnataka. He criticized the Union Government for failing to intervene impartially and suggested it should take direct control of dam operations.
Stating that the Supreme Court was the last hope for Tamil Nadu to resolve the Cauvery water dispute, Minister for Energy Resources and Law R. Nirmalkumar on Saturday said the Union Government, instead of favouring one particular State in interstate-water sharing disputes, should take control of the dams and their operation and ensure release of water.
