Telangana to develop 7,448 km rural roads under HAM in first phase
The Telangana government has launched a rural road development initiative using the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). The project aims to develop over 7,000 km of roads in its first phase to improve connectivity across the state's rural constituencies.
The State government has adopted the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) for the construction and maintenance of rural roads, with Telangana becoming the first State in the country to take up rural road development under the model, according to the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (PRED). Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched the initiative by unveiling a pylon near the Gattamma Temple in Mulugu district headquarters on Sunday.
