Tems to Executive Produce 'Children of Blood and Bone' Sound

Grammy-winning singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been named executive music producer and curator of the soundtrack for Children of Blood and Bone, with her manager confirming she will also contribute three brand-new songs to the highly anticipated fantasy film. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the founder of BlackFilmandTV, Wilson Morales, who shared highlights from the film’s trailer launch event in New York City. According to Morales, director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed that Tems would oversee the film’s soundtrack and also contribute three original songs. “At the trailer launch event in New York City for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming epic fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone, director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced that singer Tems will executive music produce and curate the soundtrack for the film. She also contributed three songs. Burna Boy is coming on board as the executive music consultant,” Morales wrote. Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, later confirmed the development in a post on X. “Executive Music Producer & Curator of the Children of Blood and Bone soundtrack. Our very own @temsbaby. Three brand new Tems songs. Coming soon,” he wrote. The announcement comes hours after the release of the film’s first official trailer, which offered fans their first look at Nigerian singer Ayra Starr in her acting debut. Ayra, who plays an undisclosed character in the adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, had previously described the project as her first major acting role. Tems’ hit single, Me & U, also features prominently in the film’s first official teaser. The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, is scheduled for theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
