A recent report from Okta highlights that while AI-native startups like Anthropic are seeing rapid corporate adoption, established software giants are successfully integrating AI into their existing platforms. Companies are increasingly opting for a hybrid approach, utilizing both specialized AI tools and enhanced features within familiar enterprise software.

One chart in Okta's new Enterprise AI Index neatly captures which work software has become more popular in recent years. You may be using these increasingly AI-powered tools yourself. Anthropic tops the ranking for corporate customer growth between June 2022 and June 2026, followed by OpenAI and Cursor . The bigger surprise is how well incumbents are holding up. Google Workspace, GitHub, Microsoft 365, Slack, Adobe, Notion, Canva, and Zoom all rank among the fastest-growing AI applications, suggesting companies aren't completely ripping out existing software in favor of AI-native startups. Instead, they're doing both: adopting specialist AI tools while expanding the AI capabilities inside familiar workplace apps.
