‘The Odyssey’ Star Tom Holland’s Quip About His Marriage To Castmate Zendaya Is Simply Epic

Actor Tom Holland jokingly addressed his marriage to co-star Zendaya during a promotional interview for the upcoming film 'The Odyssey'. The couple, known for their privacy, shared anecdotes about how Holland helped Zendaya secure her role in the Christopher Nolan-directed project.
When it comes to his love life, “The Odyssey” star Tom Holland doesn’t play. Holland, who plays Telemachus, the son of main character Odysseus, joined Wired for an interview released on July 16 with fellow castmates Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson. When asked whether Athena — played by his beau Zendaya —loves Odysseus romantically, Holland had a quick response. “No, because she’s married to me,” Holland said. Damon, who plays titular character Odysseus, praised the swift retort. “Good answer,” Damon said in the interview. Holland, 30, and Zendaya, 29, have been famously private about their relationship. But when it comes to “The Odyssey,” directed by Christopher Nolan, Zendaya has been open about some special moments she’s had with Holland in regards to the film. Zendaya told the AP that Holland had the chance to break the news of her casting. She said that her husband, who at the time had already been cast in the film, had just been coming home from a meeting with Nolan. She said that he handed her the film’s script, which the two had been reviewing together just the night before. “He was like, ‘Read it again.’ And I was like, ‘OK,’” Zendaya, recalled to the AP. “And he was like, ‘But now, think of Athena.’” It was then that Zendaya said she understood what was going on. “I was like, ‘Stop right now! You’re joking!’” she told the AP.
