The Steam Deck has seen a sharp drop in popularity following a price rise • Межа

Following its return to sale at the end of May, Valve's portable gaming PC dropped from fifth to 14th place in Steam's weekly revenue rankings. Ars Technica reports this, citing figures from Boiling Steam. According to the publication's estimates, Valve sold approximately 11,000–18,000 Steam Decks per week throughout 2025. Currently, this figure may stand at just 1,400–3,000 devices, representing a drop of approximately 80 per cent. Valve does not disclose official sales figures for the Steam Deck. Boiling Steam arrived at its estimate based on the device's position in Steam's revenue rankings, its average price, and the estimated revenue of comparable games in the table. Consequently, the 80 per cent figure has a wide margin of error. In May, the Steam Deck OLED saw a price increase of $240–$300. In the US, the 512 GB model now costs $789 instead of $549, whilst the 1 TB version costs $949 instead of $649. At this price, the device competes with the more powerful ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and MSI Claw models. The Steam Deck is not officially sold in Ukraine. As a reminder, after the Steam Deck returned to the Valve store at the end of May, the new batch sold out in less than a day. The company had also warned of supply disruptions due to a memory shortage, so the drop in the rankings may be explained not only by the price but also by the device's availability.
