TheBodyPro: Hefty new study takes on weight conundrum in HIV care - and its answers are complicated

The latest major study exploring the role of antiretrovirals in weight gain has arrived — and its findings don’t fit neatly into either side of the debate. A new, massive analysis out of the U.S. appears to affirm that, on balance, some integrase inhibitors do have a larger impact on body weight than other drugs. But the devil is very much in the details — and those details include an important signal regarding Black women in particular, as well as some important takeaways for how we can best broach this subject with all of our patients living with HIV.
