UK rapper Yung Filly allegedly caught by police in possession of large quantity of drugs

British rapper and YouTube personality Yung Filly has allegedly been busted by WA Police with more than half an ounce of cannabis on him while he was on bail. Just days after a jury convicted the musician, whose real name is Andreas Felipe Valencia Barrientos, of assaulting a fan, he was back on the court list down in Mandurah on serious drug charges. He’s accused of possessing 16.8g of marijuana in Greenfields on May 20. Barrientos was arrested in October last year in relation to allegations he slapped, bit, strangled and raped a 20-year-old fan following a gig at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys on September 28, 2024. He didn’t front up to Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday, but his lawyer Ben Jackson phoned in. Mr Jackson explained his client was at the District Court on trial last week and was found guilty of two offences. Magistrate Clare Cullen noted she had an email on file from Barrientos’ legal team but no plea had been entered. Ms Cullen also remarked that it was a large amount of marijuana. Mr Jackson suggested Barrientos’ drug charges could be dealt with at the Magistrate’s court in relation to these new charges once a decision regarding sentencing was made at the District court. Last week the 30-year-old was found not guilty of three counts of sexual penetration without consent, one count of assault and one count of impeding another person’s normal breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to the neck. He was however found guilty of two assault charges — which included biting the woman on her neck and breast. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on three charges of sexual penetration without consent. Ms Cullen said an endorsed plea of guilty could be sent to the court by Barrientos ahead of his next appearances in relation to the drug charges. Barrientos is set to reappear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on September 1.
