It contains five different gumdrop flavours scattered throughout the block.</p> <p>Ahead of the supermarket release, Whittaker's has partnered with Duck Island Ice Cream to launch a tie-in flavour, Bubble Gumdrop, which mixes the new block through a bubblegum ice cream base.</p> <p>Duck Island stores nationwide will start scooping the flavour this Sunday, a day before the chocolate block reaches shelves. The first 50 customers at each store will receive a free scoop along with a complimentary Gumdrop Block.</p> <h2>Experimental </h2> <p>Whittaker's chief marketing officer Soraya Cottin said the block was one of the brand's more experimental limited editions.</p> <p>"Gumdrop Block has got to be Whittaker's at its most playful. It's a flavour that's a little unexpected, very nostalgic, and unlike anything we've released before," she said.</p> <p>Duck Island flavour development director Morgan Glass said the collaboration built on a long-standing relationship between the two companies.</p> <p>"We've been using Whittaker's chocolate in our ice cream since we opened our doors eleven years ago, so building this flavour alongside Whittaker's felt pretty special," she said.</p> <p>Gumdrop Block will be available while stocks last, and Bubble Gumdrop will be scooping at Duck Island stores for around a month or until sold out.</p>
