US targets Iran in ninth night of strikes in wake of US troop deaths - Middle East crisis live
The US military has conducted its ninth consecutive night of strikes against Iranian targets following the deaths of three American soldiers. The conflict has escalated, with reports of strikes on Iranian cities and infrastructure, as well as retaliatory Iranian actions in the region.
The United Kingdom Maritime Operations Centre updated its previous report to say that a vessel on fire off the Omani coast in the strait of Hormuz had been struck by an unknown projectile . Though Iran’s Revolutionary Guard had earlier claimed that two oil tankers were blown up after attempting to transit through the southern route of the strait, there has been no independent confirmation of this and it is unclear if the IRGC was referring to this vessel.
