Veteran entertainment columnist Jobert Sucaldito dies at 65

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran columnist, broadcaster and talent manager Jobert Sucaldito after his death was announced Sunday through the official Facebook page of the online program he co-hosted. He became a familiar voice to listeners as a radio anchor and co-host of DZMM's entertainment program 'Showbuzz,'while also writing for various publications.Outside journalism, he worked as a talent manager and appeared in the credits of several films, including 'Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story,' 'Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako,' and 'Silab.'Known for his outspoken views on show business, Sucaldito became one of the industry's most recognizable commentators. His candid opinions frequently sparked public debate and occasionally led to controversies involving celebrities and other personalities.In the weeks before his passing, filmmaker Chaps Manansala disclosed that Sucaldito had been confined at Providence Hospital in Quezon City due to severe and persistent anxiety. Friends and colleagues had since appealed for prayers for his recovery.As of Sunday, no cause of death or funeral arrangements had been announced.
