Vizag flights shift to Bhogapuram from August 17; INS Dega closed to scheduled services for 30 years

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that all commercial flight operations in Visakhapatnam will shift from INS Dega to the new Bhogapuram International Airport starting August 17, 2026. The existing civil enclave at INS Dega will cease scheduled commercial services for the next 30 years.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has notified that all scheduled commercial flight operations will shift from the civil enclave at Visakhapatnam Airport (INS Dega) to the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram from 00:01 hours on August 17, 2026. The international aerodrome code VTZ will move to the new airport on the same date.
