Football Australia has released a unified match calendar for the 2026-27 season, aligning the start dates for the A-League Men, A-League Women, and the Australian Championship. The move aims to improve player welfare and consistency while aligning with international FIFA windows.
The 2026-27 A-Leagues and Australian Championship campaigns will begin on the same weekend after Football Australia released the Domestic Match Calendar for the upcoming season. For the season ahead, the A-League Men and Women, and Australian Championship, will all kick-off on October 16, 2026. The A-League Men campaign will run through to June 5-6, 2027 as Auckland FC look to defend their crown while the Australian Championship will end on December 12-13, 2026 with South Melbourne the defending champions. The A-League Women competition will wrap up on May 15-16, 2027. Melbourne City return as the reigning champions. It means a much more aligned calendar in 2026-27. All three competitions have typically started on different dates.
