While India added teachers, Telangana lost nearly 7,400 of them in a decade amid rising student enrolments

Data from the AISHE 2023-24 report reveals that Telangana has experienced an 8% decline in higher education teachers over the last decade, despite a national increase. The state also saw a reduction in the number of colleges, even as student enrolment and the Gross Enrolment Ratio continued to rise.
