Yesavage (knee) undergoes surgery, could still return in 2026

Toronto Blue Jays righty Trey Yesavage underwent surgery for a left meniscus injury, but the team isn’t ruling him out for the rest of the season, manager John Schneider said. The 23-year-old rookie was placed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 5. Yesavage last took to the hill on Aug. 4, leaving his start against the Houston Astros after only two innings of work with pain in his knee. The 20th overall pick of the 2024 MLB Amateur Draft out of East Carolina, Yesavage made his big league debut last September, completing a meteoric rise through the organization and pitching at five different levels in 2025. In 18 starts this season, Yesavage is 5-5 with a 3.65 earned run average and 1.142 WHIP over 93.2 innings pitched. He has 91 strikeouts to 46 walks. The Blue Jays (57-63) continue a four-game set with the Boston Red Sox (64-54) at Rogers Centre on Tuesday night. The team sits 3.5 games behind the Texas Rangers for the final American League wild-card spot.
