Afrobeats star, Davido and former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad on Thursday engaged in a war of words on X. Daily Sun reports that the disagreement started over the contentious freezing of the Osun State Government’s bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Davido had taken to X to reveal he was present when President Bola Tinubu called Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke over the matter. “I was there live! I witnessed history,” Davido, the governor’s nephew, wrote. Reacting, Ahmad urged Davido to accept the result of the forthcoming governorship election, in which his uncle is the Accord Party candidate, with equanimity irrespective of its outcome. “This tweet is bookmarked. However, Davido mocked Ahmad, a former Special Assistant on New Media to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, over his failed House of Representatives bid. “U got 16 votes bro in primaries,” the Grammy nominee wrote accompanied by a laughing emoji. Can we now talk about the number of Grammy Awards you have won from your five nominations, David?
