A young man has died in hospital days after he was left critically injured at a house party. Police were called to a short stay accommodation on Discovery Boulevard in Bahrs Scrub, Logan, south of Brisbane about 2.15am on July 26 after reports of a wild party that had spilled out onto the streets. Significant damage was caused to a number of cars on the street, as well as damage to a neighbouring home. Police said when they arrived, members of the large group fled the scene, however, a 21-year-old Redbank Plains man was found nearby on Orchard Ave with significant head injuries. Paramedics rushed the young man to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition where he died several days later on Saturday. Neighbours told 7NEWS at the time that they had feared for their lives. “It was pure chaos, they were running all over the place (and) smashing things,” one woman said. Detective inspector Ian Galpin also said at the time that the party had turned into a brawl. “To describe (the events) as an all-out brawl would be fair,” he said. Galpin also confirmed several others who attended the party had also been taken to hospital with laceration-type injures. No arrests have been made as police continue to search for offenders. The home had been rented through Booking.com, with the company releasing a statement saying they “take these matters seriously and will investigate this property with its trust and safety team”. Anyone with information that could assist, including anyone with CCTV, home security or dashcam vision from the time of the incdient is urged to contact police. Investigations remain ongoing.
