NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge Saturday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling his silence over the theft of Ram Mandir donations "unacceptable" and former Temple general secretary Champat Rai a "disgrace".'Your silence now in the face of such crime is unacceptable. It is your duty to ensure accountability and restitution," both leaders wrote in a joint letter, adding: "Its disgraced former general secretary was also your close associate.Demanding a probe into financial affairs of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, both the leaders said that the "findings and the Trust's accounts should be made public so that every devotee knows how their offerings have been utilised".Ahead of the Monoon Session of the Parliament, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, urged PM to "immediately order an independent and comprehensive investigation into the financial affairs of the Trust, including the handling of all offerings including cash, gold, silver".Get the latest India News and Live updates.
